Bruno Fagali likes to share his knowledge about the law with others. One way he does so is by running a blog where he posts articles about various legal issues. A recent article was about cigarettes and the legal issues surrounding their use that have been happening in courtrooms around the world for decades. The legal issues have been around such things as the chemical added to them, the fact they cause cancer, and the advertising done to sell them to consumers.
In Brazil, Bruno Fagali says that there was a law passed in 2012 which requires cigarette manufacturers to keep flavor additives out of them. He says that Brazil was, in fact, the first country in the world to ban these types of additives. He said that one of the concerns was that this could lead to cigarette smuggling because of those who really like the different flavors. Due to this the law is being revisited in a supreme court case that could receive a ruling in early 2018.
Bruno Fagali also wrote about cigarette advertising in the United States and the legal issues involved there. He says that in November 2017 a new anti-tobacco advertising campaign was unleashed that was the biggest one yet in the US. After a lawsuit was won by the states against tobacco companies they have to pay for this new advertising campaign he says. This advertising started appearing on media outlets all over the nation, including tv channels and newspapers. Bruno Fagali says the campaigns have to begin with a specific phrase that the tobacco companies have to use in order to be in compliance with the lawsuit.
As a Brazilian lawyer Bruno Fagali has received specialized legal training in a number of areas. Among his specialties are ethics, compliance, and the areas of administrative, urban, and regulatory law.
